I have used turmeric in my face masks but do you know that we can also use this magical ingredient in face serum….yes you heard that right we learn to make homemade turmeric serum.Serum has the consistency a little thicker than emulsion and a bit lighter than moisturizer. Using it in serum form is a wonderful idea to add in your skin care routine. I am giving you a homemade recipe for this magical turmeric serum hoping that you will try this at home.
Ingredients Of Turmeric Serum And Their Benefits
- Aloe Gel
- Rose Water
- Witch Hazel
- Turmeric Powder
- Turmeric Essential Oil
Aloe Vera is also known as a magical plant. It is great for moisturizing abilities. It adds shine into the skin and makes it smooth. It has anti-inflammatory properties. Another reason or benefit of using aloe vera gel is that it provides base to the serum in which other ingredients are mixed. It also helps ingredients to absorb into the skin.
It has magical effects on your skin as it minimizes the pore size, it controls oil production and provides hydration to the skin. Also it adds a rosy glow to your skin.
Witch hazel is used as an antimicrobial agent in the serum. It has anti-inflammatory properties as well. It controls acne and helps in unclogging the pores hence preventing the blackheads and white heads. It is great for acne prone skin.
Here comes our magical ingredient of the day. It has great anti-inflammatory, healing, and antimicrobial properties. It is the ingredient that suits every skin type. Curcumin is the ingredient that has made it responsible for all the good qualities of turmeric.
Turmeric Essential Oil
Turmeric essential oil has all the benefits of turmeric powder. This oil has more concentrated ingredients than powder. It also adds aroma to the serum.
- 3 tablespoons aloe vera gel
- 1.5 tablespoon witch hazel
- 1.5 tablespoon rose water
- 1/2 teaspoon wild turmeric
- 6-8 drops turmeric essential oil
To make turmeric serum ,in a bowl add aloe vera gel, rose water and witch hazel mix it really well. Once the mixture gets emulsified add turmeric powder, give it a mix and at last add turmeric oil after mixing add this into a dropper bottle or pumping bottle. Store this into cool and dark places. To use, take a few drops on your palm and apply this mix with finger tips on clean facial skin and neck.
